Anita Barone

An actress with a variety of stage roles who is mostly restricted to sitcoms on TV, Anita Barone received her greatest chance on the stage as the wife of Jeff Foxworthy on "The Jeff Foxworthy Show," which was a one-season show on ABC from 1995-96. Barone performed on stage when she was just 5 years old in Detroit after her family relocated away from St Louis. She was in the stage for more than 50 plays by the age of 23, mostly the regional theatres and productions at universities. Her stage credits include Juliet in "Romeo as well as Juliet," Helen Keller in the stage version of "Monday After The Miracle" as well as the lead performance of Agnes who is a young, tormented nun as in "Agnes of God." Her debut on screen came in the form of a small part in "The Roseary Murders", a cameo in "Ricochet", and leading in the romantic indie comedy "Just Friends" in 1996. But Barone's first Hollywood role of note came in the stock company of "Carol & Company" (NBC in 1990 and 1991) The shaky program created to Carol Burnett to revive the comedy variety program. Barone has also been featured on"The Wounded Heart" on the USA Network movie "Wounded Heart" in 1995. The actress later returned to her daily sitcom, starring alongside Michael Chiklis on "Daddio".
